Lifeguard Certification

This course trains entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies. Certification includes the American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, & CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.

Prerequisites:

15 years old (by the last day of class), ability to swim 300 yards continuously using the front crawl and breaststroke, ability to surface dive to a depth of 7-10 feet to retrieve a 10 pound object within one minute and 40 seconds, and tread water for two minutes without use of hands.

This course requires a minimum of 6 participants and attendance at all classes is mandatory.

Refund Policy:

You may cancel class participation 48 hours prior to the class beginning to receive a full refund. Canceling less than 48 hours without a doctor’s note will result in a no refund.

Parking:

Weekdays before 4pm is permit parking or metered parking only. A & C Parking permit parking is on Santa Teresa St. right across from AOERC. Metered parking is located in the parking structure at Via Ortega and Panama (Behind AOERC). Metered parking is $.25 for 10 minutes. Parking is free after 4:00pm Monday-Friday and free on the weekends.
